TLP Awarded Grant from Social Service League

On December 7, 2016, Tompkins Learning Partners received a check for $600 from the Social Service League of Ithaca at their 7th annual awards celebration held at the Child Development Council in Ithaca. Tompkins Learning Partners will use these funds to purchase updated reading materials for our Adult Basic Education (ABE) and English as a Second Language students (ESL) and tutors. Books will aid students who wish to improve their ability to read, write, and speak in English and will also provide information on life skills such as health literacy, employment, and basic numeracy. Tompkins Learning Partners is grateful to the Social Service League for this award.

The Social Service League of Ithaca is an extension of the Human Services Coalition and pledges to support Tompkins County not-for-profit organizations that work to address significant community needs. In sum, the Social Service League provided over $12,000 to 16 different organizations in Tompkins County for the 2016-2017 year.
